About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own, design, model and deliver a novel thermal system for the hybrid aircraft thermal design
- Select appropriate technology and materials for a complex and novel thermal system
- Design the system to be lightweight, high-performing, and cost-effective
- Define tests to validate system performance
- Work with stakeholders to deliver the complete system
- Manage the design lifecycle, interfacing with manufacturing and test teams
- Attend and present designs to stakeholders
- Interface with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and stress/FEA engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS, MS, or PhD in a related scientific or engineering field
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design
- Strong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding of complex system design
- Experience with stress and finite element analysis
- Experience with Siemens NX and its suite of tools
- Systematic problem-solving approach and ability to communicate complex technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and lead technical initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents
- Proficiency in PDM and PLM environments
- Archer is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position
