About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own, design, model and deliver a novel thermal system for the hybrid aircraft thermal design
Select appropriate technology and materials for a complex and novel thermal system
Design the system to be lightweight, high-performing, and cost-effective
Define tests to validate system performance
Work with stakeholders to deliver the complete system
Manage the design lifecycle, interfacing with manufacturing and test teams
Attend and present designs to stakeholders
Interface with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and stress/FEA engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS, MS, or PhD in a related scientific or engineering field
5+ years of experience in mechanical design
Strong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding of complex system design
Experience with stress and finite element analysis
Experience with Siemens NX and its suite of tools
Systematic problem-solving approach and ability to communicate complex technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders
Self-motivated, able to work independently and lead technical initiatives
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents
Proficiency in PDM and PLM environments
