About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage project delivery within the municipal water/wastewater market
- Lead wastewater treatment process and mechanical design projects
- Lead project tasks involving planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater and reclaimed water facilities
- Prepare or oversee construction documents, including drawings and specifications, permit applications, and construction oversight/administration
- Lead detailed engineering calculations and analysis using design software
- Manage condition assessment evaluations for water/wastewater system assets, including treatment facilities, pipelines, and pump/lift stations
- Develop and meet project scopes, delivery schedules, and budgets
- Collaborate with project managers, area managers, clients, and delivery teams
- Participate in proposals and presentations
- Strengthen client relationships through client meetings
- Supervise and support others and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
- Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards
- Travel as needed for project meetings, site visits, client meetings, planning, and construction oversight
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 7 years of experience in water/wastewater design, including leading design projects and managing multi-disciplinary design teams
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Alabama or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire
- Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills
- Excellent technical writing abilities
- Experience managing preparation, review, and approval of project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, permit applications, RFIs, as-built drawings, and other design and construction documents
- Strong client relationship skills
- Proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects that meet client expectations
