About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and manage project delivery within the municipal water/wastewater market
Lead wastewater treatment process and mechanical design projects
Lead project tasks involving planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater and reclaimed water facilities
Prepare or oversee construction documents, including drawings and specifications, permit applications, and construction oversight/administration
Lead detailed engineering calculations and analysis using design software
Manage condition assessment evaluations for water/wastewater system assets, including treatment facilities, pipelines, and pump/lift stations
Develop and meet project scopes, delivery schedules, and budgets
Collaborate with project managers, area managers, clients, and delivery teams
Participate in proposals and presentations
Strengthen client relationships through client meetings
Supervise and support others and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards
Travel as needed for project meetings, site visits, client meetings, planning, and construction oversight

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 7 years of experience in water/wastewater design, including leading design projects and managing multi-disciplinary design teams
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or a related field
Professional Engineer (PE) License in Alabama or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire
Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills
Excellent technical writing abilities
Experience managing preparation, review, and approval of project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, permit applications, RFIs, as-built drawings, and other design and construction documents
Strong client relationship skills
Proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects that meet client expectations
