About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage project delivery within the municipal water/wastewater market
  • Lead wastewater treatment process and mechanical design projects
  • Lead project tasks involving planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater and reclaimed water facilities
  • Prepare or oversee construction documents, including drawings and specifications, permit applications, and construction oversight/administration
  • Lead detailed engineering calculations and analysis using design software
  • Manage condition assessment evaluations for water/wastewater system assets, including treatment facilities, pipelines, and pump/lift stations
  • Develop and meet project scopes, delivery schedules, and budgets
  • Collaborate with project managers, area managers, clients, and delivery teams
  • Participate in proposals and presentations
  • Strengthen client relationships through client meetings
  • Supervise and support others and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
  • Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards
  • Travel as needed for project meetings, site visits, client meetings, planning, and construction oversight

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 7 years of experience in water/wastewater design, including leading design projects and managing multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Alabama or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent technical writing abilities
  • Experience managing preparation, review, and approval of project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, permit applications, RFIs, as-built drawings, and other design and construction documents
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects that meet client expectations
