About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and execute tasks assigned by Project Managers for environmental project delivery
  • Operate and maintain large groundwater remediation and treatment systems
  • Complete routine and scheduled system inspections
  • Perform preventative maintenance and replace parts
  • Execute groundwater compliance sampling and ongoing monitoring programs
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process-related treatment system issues
  • Oversee compliance monitoring to ensure regulatory and project requirements are met
  • Support environmental site assessments, risk assessments, and remediation projects
  • Conduct site visits and inspections
  • Monitor and supervise drilling and remediation activities
  • Prepare field notes, safety forms, daily field reports, and laboratory forms
  • Collect soil and groundwater samples
  • Support data tabulation and prepare environmental reports
  • Engage and collaborate with regulators, stakeholders, and internal Arcadis staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, engineering, earth sciences, or related field
  • Experience with operations and maintenance of remediation treatment systems and associated mechanics and plumbing
  • Strong understanding of soil, groundwater, and vapour sampling protocols
  • Experience overseeing drilling activities and managing subcontractors
  • Knowledge and familiarity with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks, including O.Reg.153
  • Ability to interpret environmental data and compare sample results to applicable guidelines and standards
  • Strong adherence to health and safety standards and policies
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a personal vehicle required
  • Mechanically inclined, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with regulators, stakeholders, and internal staff
