About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver engineering and consulting services for flood risk reduction, waterfront infrastructure resilience, dam safety, lock and navigation structure design, and related projects
- Perform geotechnical analyses for levees, dams, floodwalls, and other hydraulic structures
- Prepare geotechnical recommendations supporting designs, drawings, specifications, and reports
- Collaborate with Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineers in the multidisciplinary Water Management team
- Evaluate instrumentation-system data at levees, spillways, outlet works, and slopes
- Plan and coordinate geotechnical field investigations
- Design and analyze heavy civil and earthen structures
- Prepare design and bid packages for permitting and construction
- Coordinate and oversee construction administration and inspection services
- Plan field exploration and laboratory testing programs
- Partner with clients and internal leaders to define project scope, develop solutions, and ensure on-time delivery
- Mentor entry-level engineers
- Travel to project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight activities as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of geotechnical experience
- EIT/PE Certification
- Experience managing project teams and collaborating with other technical disciplines
- Proficiency with gINT, SEEPW, SLOPEW, CWALSHT, PYWall, LPILE, and GROUP
- Experience analyzing dams, levees, cofferdams, and foundations for hydraulic structures
- Experience with seepage, static and seismic stability, liquefaction, deformation, foundation, and settlement analyses
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight activities as needed
