About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and coordinate detailed design concepts and functional requirements to meet project-design criteria
- Support the team in concept/schematic development of workplace projects
- Oversee the interior design process and deliverables with project Lead input
- Take direction from the Design Lead to establish project direction
- Integrate interior elements and concepts effectively with supervision
- Conceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization and hand-sketching
- Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers
- Develop understanding of building codes and accessibility codes/standards
- Select and specify interior design elements to suit project needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or equivalent
- Up to 3+ years of workplace interiors-focused project experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite
- Knowledge of finish materials, furniture, FF&E, and applicable reference standards
- Ability to develop preliminary space plans and design concepts
- Ability to review shop drawings and submittals
- Ability to produce innovative design concepts meeting client and project needs while respecting the project budget
- Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate with team members
- Ability to research and learn project-required design elements
- Residential design experience is considered an asset
- LEED accreditation would be an asset
