About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Project Managers and Task Managers with planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
  • Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation
  • Conduct groundwater sampling and soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling
  • Oversee subcontractors and prepare subcontracts
  • Operate and maintain remediation systems
  • Perform vapor intrusion and soil gas surveys
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
  • Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, prepare cost estimates and health and safety plans
  • Conduct regulatory file reviews and proposal writing
  • Support project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and client communications
  • Support Mid-Atlantic and national emergency response teams during incident response recovery
  • Work under trained incident responders during unforeseen incidents such as train derailments and pipeline releases

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field such as environmental science or physical science
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated with independent thinking abilities
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both in a team setting and independently
  • Ability to work remotely when required
  • Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork with a focus on health and safety
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally 1–2 days per week on average
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time several times per year
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Master of Science degree in Geology or a closely related field preferred
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
