About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist Project Managers and Task Managers with planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation
Conduct groundwater sampling and soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling
Oversee subcontractors and prepare subcontracts
Operate and maintain remediation systems
Perform vapor intrusion and soil gas surveys
Prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, prepare cost estimates and health and safety plans
Conduct regulatory file reviews and proposal writing
Support project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and client communications
Support Mid-Atlantic and national emergency response teams during incident response recovery
Work under trained incident responders during unforeseen incidents such as train derailments and pipeline releases

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field such as environmental science or physical science
Strong written and oral communication skills
Self-motivated with independent thinking abilities
Ability to work effectively and efficiently both in a team setting and independently
Ability to work remotely when required
Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to conduct fieldwork with a focus on health and safety
Willingness and ability to travel regionally 1–2 days per week on average
Willingness to travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time several times per year
Valid driver’s license required
Master of Science degree in Geology or a closely related field preferred
Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
