About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage project scope, workload, and resource allocation across the team and sub-contractors.
- Collaborate with other design disciplines to maintain overall design integrity.
- Monitor team and sub-contractor performance and resolve delivery issues.
- Oversee and quality assure analysis, design, reports, and technical documentation.
- Ensure outputs meet client expectations, Arcadis requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
- Present design options and identify opportunities to improve design value and profitability.
- Maintain effective communication with the Project Director/Manager and client on progress, changes, and issues.
- Support project commercial activities, including contracts, invoicing, and debt management.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and development support to team members.
- Build understanding of Arcadis services, client business, and the industry sector to strengthen credibility and relationships.
- Support structural analysis and design for civil and marine infrastructure, including ports and waterfront structures.
- Carry out investigations, inspections, and analytical studies to inform practical design solutions.
- Contribute to designs with focus on durability, constructability, and marine/coastal performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s is an asset.
- P.Eng. required.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience on complex projects.
- Knowledge of Canadian design codes, seismic design, dynamic analysis, and condition assessment.
- Procurement, proposal preparation, programming, AI use in engineering, and marine/coastal project exposure are assets.
- Proficient in structural analysis and design for civil infrastructure.
- Skilled in SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, CAD, and MS Office.
- Technical writing, research, data analysis, and engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of marine/port structures, durability, and coastal environments is an asset.
- MATLAB, 3D modeling/Revit are assets.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator with good organizational and time management skills.
- Able to influence teams, manage priorities, and support junior staff.
