About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct the development of final design construction plans for highway and roadway projects
  • Lead, manage, and perform assignments to take 30 percent schematic design plans through preliminary and final design
  • Prepare roadway and highway design using local (State, County, or City) or AASHTO standards
  • Develop project scopes and budgets
  • Mentor and develop junior staff and design/drafters
  • Assist as needed on other projects assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of progressive highway (TxDOT) design experience
  • at least 3 years of roadway design lead experience on TxDOT projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Texas PE
  • TxDOT precertification
  • Proficient in MicroStation and Open Roads Tools
  • Experience working in and leading large multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent, clear, and concise oral and written communication skills
