About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct the development of final design construction plans for highway and roadway projects
- Lead, manage, and perform assignments to take 30 percent schematic design plans through preliminary and final design
- Prepare roadway and highway design using local (State, County, or City) or AASHTO standards
- Develop project scopes and budgets
- Mentor and develop junior staff and design/drafters
- Assist as needed on other projects assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of progressive highway (TxDOT) design experience
- at least 3 years of roadway design lead experience on TxDOT projects
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
- Texas PE
- TxDOT precertification
- Proficient in MicroStation and Open Roads Tools
- Experience working in and leading large multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent, clear, and concise oral and written communication skills
