About the role
- Oversee the electrical engineering scope for large and complex port projects
- Lead the development, review, and approval of advanced electrical designs, calculations, and technical reports
- Cover power distribution, lighting, automation, communications, and specialized systems essential to port operations
- Collaborate closely with colleagues from other disciplines to deliver coordinated and integrated solutions
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and industry partners
- Represent Arcadis at stakeholder meetings and technical forums
- Contribute to business development activities
- Champion the adoption of digital and sustainable innovations throughout the project life cycle
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Nova Scotia and/or other Atlantic Canada provinces or eligible for registration
- 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with substantial exposure to port, marine, or heavy infrastructure projects
- Deep knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, relevant standards, and best practices in port electrification, shore power, automation, and related systems
- Demonstrated experience leading large, multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships
- Proficiency with design and modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM)
- Strong business development, proposal writing, and communication skills
