function as a Group Manager for a small but growing municipal design engineering group
act as Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager on civil infrastructure projects focused on municipal infrastructure and transportation facilities
prepare designs and contract specifications for projects
manage staff productivity, performance, billability and utilization
mentor staff and projects budgets and teams
supervise staff daily activities and participate in project completions
foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus
support design changes during construction and work directly with construction staff
lead business development activities in the Waterloo Region
participate in project coordination between design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget
client liaison and business development
Requirements
Bachelor’s University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
At least 15+ years of Civil Engineering experience in the consulting services industry including roles with management and business development responsibilities
P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) is required
Experience with all aspects of preliminary and detailed design of linear infrastructure and municipal roadways
Familiarity with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process an asset
Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads and Civil3D an asset
Familiarity with Southern Ontario and Waterloo Region area market conditions
Ability and desire to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients
Excellent technical understanding and strong verbal and written communication skills
