About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • support multiple sectors, including mining, oil and gas, and rail
  • responsible for the development and planning of hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, watershed evaluations, and earthwork site design
  • permit/construction-level drawings and details
  • mixture of engineering design, permitting, proposal and report writing, and construction-phase field engineering
  • interface directly with clients and contractors and manage all aspects of project delivery utilizing Arcadis resources
  • field assignments, including assisting in the field with construction and inspections
  • travel up to 25%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or related field
  • Registered Professional Engineer, and willingness to obtain reciprocity in western states such as Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona.
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Ability to work independently and to mentor junior staff
  • Prior experience supporting mining, utilities, rail, or pipeline protection projects and coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Prior experience in land development such as site layout, stormwater management, grading, and erosion and sedimentation controls
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS)
  • Understanding of land development, erosion and sediment controls, road design (particularly Haul Roads and Forest Service Roads), river restoration, and stormwater permitting
