About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for climate adaptation projects.
conduct structural related engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work.
research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
develop calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents.
work with various engineering disciplines, office/project staff, clients and sub-contractors.
exercise judgment on details of work and in making selections of engineering alternatives.
function as Design Lead, Task Manager, or Project Engineer on projects.
manage related budgets and schedules, lead deliverables, coordinate for timely completion of projects.
mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff.

Requirements

What you’ll need

8 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
experience in designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations.
progressive experience in structural engineering.
Master's degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution is a plus.
proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit.
