About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

support multiple sectors, including mining, oil and gas, and rail
responsible for the development and planning of hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, watershed evaluations, and earthwork site design
permit/construction-level drawings and details
mixture of engineering design, permitting, proposal and report writing, and construction-phase field engineering
apply technical knowledge to support a range of environmental projects
prepare technical specifications and report writing for civil and environmental permitting
interface directly with clients and contractors and manage all aspects of project delivery utilizing Arcadis resources
assist in the field with construction and inspections
ability to travel up to 25%

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Registered Professional Engineer, and willingness to obtain reciprocity in western states such as Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona.
7+ years of related experience
Ability to work independently and to mentor junior staff
Prior experience supporting mining, utilities, rail, or pipeline protection projects and coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines. (Preferred)
Prior experience in land development such as site layout, stormwater management, grading, and erosion and sedimentation controls (Preferred)
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS) (Preferred)
Understanding of land development, erosion and sediment controls, road design (particularly Haul Roads and Forest Service Roads), river restoration, and stormwater permitting (Preferred)
