About the role

  • Provide overall construction phase project and construction management services for municipal water and wastewater projects
  • Coordinate and manage design related services during construction including submittal reviews and RFI reviews/responses
  • Oversee and support field inspectors and other project assigned staff
  • Manage all project documentation and document management during construction
  • Prepare requests for change proposals, review contractor claims and change proposals, and prepare change orders or field orders as required
  • Monitor contractor progress for compliance with contract documents and review/process contractor applications for payment
  • Attend and conduct project meetings including preconstruction conference and project meetings
  • Observe construction activities at key milestones
  • Conduct substantial completion and final completion inspections and prepare punch lists
  • Provide Record Drawings based on contractor as-built drawings
  • Provide project monthly progress reports and serve as liaison between owner, contractor and engineering team
  • Lead and support resolution of project issues; manage change, schedule, risk, quality, and project closeout
  • Report to area Practice Lead for Construction Management services and client account leaders

Requirements

  • 10 years of project management water or wastewater pipeline, plant or pump station project experience
  • Project management of design related services during construction (submittal reviews, RFI review/response)
  • Construction management related services
  • Experience with schedule and cost management
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and provide recommendations for project issues
  • Ability to multi-task several projects, set priorities, and possess solid time management skills
  • Develop project management plans and communication plans
  • Build strong project teams between owners, contractors and designers
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS SharePoint, Outlook and document management software
  • Preferred: 15+ years of responsible in-charge project management; DBIA certification; engineering and construction management experience in wastewater and water process, storage and conveyance projects
  • Plus: PE license, NASSCO certification, Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through CMAA
