About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • manage exciting and challenging water, wastewater, and related infrastructure projects from the pre-bid through completed construction phases
  • work closely with clients, engineers, contractors, and residents
  • manage day-to-day construction oversight and resident engineer inspection efforts
  • serve as the primary liaison between the contractor and design staff to address RFI's and review shop drawings
  • provide technical reviews of construction plans, specifications, and project changes to ensure constructability and practicality
  • ensure accurate record-keeping, process contractor payments, draft and negotiate field change orders, and compile required reports and deliverables
  • manage staff safety, regulatory compliance, permit adherence, and coordination with regulatory agencies
  • interface with residents including completing service line inspections inside the home and distributing written notification of pipe material
  • ensure timely delivery of inspection reports that meet client requirements while monitoring contractor performance, schedule compliance, and responsiveness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or similar
  • 4 years of experience in construction management/construction inspection on civil works projects (earthwork, dams, roads, utilities, infrastructure, paving, pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, etc.)
  • PE, or CCM Certification (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with lead service line inventory/replacement and buried water/wastewater infrastructure (Preferred)
  • Experience using MS SharePoint, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), AutoDesk Construction Cloud (ACC), ESRI Field Maps App, and PDF editing tools (Bluebeam Revu) (Preferred)
  • Ability to interact effectively with the Construction Contractor management personnel and crew; this includes utilities, state, local, and federal agencies (Preferred)
  • Demonstrate independent and effective problem-solving/decision-making (Preferred)
