About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- lead and manage the design and delivery of water and wastewater pipeline projects
- encompass feasibility studies, preliminary and final design, as well as construction support
- responsible for developing alignments, performing hydraulic calculations, and preparing detailed design drawings and specifications for water, sewer, and recycled water pipelines
- acting as a technical point of contact for clients
- attend meetings and support business development activities
- collaborate with multidisciplinary teams that include civil, structural, environmental, and construction management professionals
- ensure that all deliverables meet Arcadis’ quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering (or related discipline)
- 6-12 years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of water and/or wastewater pipeline projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proven experience coordinating with public agencies, utilities, and permitting authorities
- Master’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering (preferred)
- Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., InfoWater, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS)
- Experience with trenchless technologies, condition assessment, and rehabilitation of pipelines
- Experience supporting or leading construction administration
- Background in sustainability, climate resilience, and integrating digital tools (e.g., BIM 360, ArcGIS)
- Active involvement in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, AWWA, WEF)
