About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

lead and manage the design and delivery of water and wastewater pipeline projects
encompass feasibility studies, preliminary and final design, as well as construction support
responsible for developing alignments, performing hydraulic calculations, and preparing detailed design drawings and specifications for water, sewer, and recycled water pipelines
acting as a technical point of contact for clients
attend meetings and support business development activities
collaborate with multidisciplinary teams that include civil, structural, environmental, and construction management professionals
ensure that all deliverables meet Arcadis’ quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering (or related discipline)
6-12 years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of water and/or wastewater pipeline projects
Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months
Proven experience coordinating with public agencies, utilities, and permitting authorities
Master’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering (preferred)
Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., InfoWater, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS)
Experience with trenchless technologies, condition assessment, and rehabilitation of pipelines
Experience supporting or leading construction administration
Background in sustainability, climate resilience, and integrating digital tools (e.g., BIM 360, ArcGIS)
Active involvement in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, AWWA, WEF)
