Staff Environmental Scientist/Engineer – Radiation Services
ArcadisIntermediate Scientist or Engineer focusing on radiological science in various nuclear projects. Collaborating on risk management and environmental impact assessments for the nuclear energy sector.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely and efficiently under the supervision of the Project Managers on a project basis, on activities such as:
- Environmental data analysis and interpretation,
- Writing technical reports for clients and government as well as non-technical documents for members of the public,
- Performing and documenting risk assessment calculations (model (e.g., MicroShield, RESRAD) or spreadsheet-based), and very occasionally dispersion and/or shielding calculations,
- Carrying out quality assurance checks of calculations and reports,
- Literature and data reviews for selection of calculations parameters,
- Coordination of project budgets and schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals, including scope, work plan, corporate qualifications, budget and schedule.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Radiation Science, Nuclear Science and engineering, Health Physics, Engineering, or similar field. Master’s degree in Science, Radiation Science, Nuclear Science and engineering, Health Physics, Engineering, or similar field preferred.
- Intermediate candidate will have a minimum of 6 years’ experience working in a related field and 3+ years’ of experience in radiological sciences and engineering.
- Skills related to mathematics (statistics), radiochemistry, radiological and nuclear engineering, health physics, radiation protection, experience with shielding models would be considered a significant asset.
