About the role
- Manage scope, schedule, staffing, and budget for environmental remediation projects, both large and small scale
- Responsible for client and regulatory correspondence and interactions
- Lead teams to evaluate data to support conceptual site models for environmental investigations
- Delineate the nature and extent of contamination, evaluate, and implement remedial alternatives, and modify/optimize remediation and monitoring programs
- Review and write technical reports; strong writing skills required
- Oversee and participate in people management within the Area, including hiring, onboarding, performance management and terminations
- Make compensation recommendations and work with leadership on staffing and workload leveling
- Train, coach, and mentor staff on consulting best practices and motivate staff to achieve business growth goals
- Coordinate and collaborate with Client Account Leaders, Market Sector Leaders, Service Line Leaders, and Area Leaders
- Support and implement company priorities such as GEC usage, MEPC, Digital offerings, and sustainability
- Be a visible steward of Health & Safety and mentor staff on H&S
- Field work at project sites with environmental media impacted by hazardous substances; expect to be in the field up to 10-25% of the time
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting
- Previous project management experience
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to perform field work up to 10-25% of the time
- Experience with environmental media (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water) impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes
- Experience or ability to oversee people management including hiring, onboarding, performance management
- Preferred: PE or PG
- Preferred: work experience in the utilities industry
