About the role
- Working as a key participant in our Mining Sector Team, providing technical leadership and contributing to critical projects.
- Applying geotechnical engineering principles to develop effective solutions for surface mining projects, including tailings facilities, open pits, and mine reclamation efforts.
- Performing geotechnical engineering reviews and providing key input on large-scale, complex projects across the US and internationally.
- Mentoring and developing mid-level and junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Supporting business development by identifying and pursuing growth opportunities with existing and new clients.
- Acting as or becoming the Engineer of Record on appropriate projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance.
- This role provides a dynamic mix of feasibility studies, design, construction quality assurance, and client engagement, providing opportunities for professional growth and leadership within the mining sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Master’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).
- Professional engineer (PE) license (preferred).
- Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and geotechnical modeling software (e.g., GeoStudio, FLAC, PLAXIS) (preferred).
- Expertise in mine slope stability analysis, tailings dam design and siting, and soft-ground mechanics (preferred).
