About the role

  • Working as a key participant in our Mining Sector Team, providing technical leadership and contributing to critical projects.
  • Applying geotechnical engineering principles to develop effective solutions for surface mining projects, including tailings facilities, open pits, and mine reclamation efforts.
  • Performing geotechnical engineering reviews and providing key input on large-scale, complex projects across the US and internationally.
  • Mentoring and developing mid-level and junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Supporting business development by identifying and pursuing growth opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Acting as or becoming the Engineer of Record on appropriate projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance.
  • This role provides a dynamic mix of feasibility studies, design, construction quality assurance, and client engagement, providing opportunities for professional growth and leadership within the mining sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).
  • Professional engineer (PE) license (preferred).
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and geotechnical modeling software (e.g., GeoStudio, FLAC, PLAXIS) (preferred).
  • Expertise in mine slope stability analysis, tailings dam design and siting, and soft-ground mechanics (preferred).
