About the role
- provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire detection and monitoring and control system designs
- manage tasks, manage team work, and oversee the work of junior staff
- support projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other industrial facilities
- development of project/task scopes, schedules, and budget for new projects
- establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications
- providing condition assessments, equipment evaluations, and life cycle planning recommendations for facilities
- providing engineering services during construction phases, reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFIs
- conducting general QA/QC of completed work and monitoring safety compliance
- performing system analysis utilizing tools like ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software
Requirements
- 7 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- PE License
- Experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D) or Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study (Visual 3D or Dialux)
- Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements, as well as NFPA 70E, NFPA 820
- Willingness and desire to mentor and manage junior/staff electrical engineers
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget
- Ability to balance team workload for multiple assignments and activities concurrently to meet multiple project deadlines.
