About the role
- Lead siting and routing studies for power generation, transmission, oil and gas, and renewable energy clients
- Lead preparation of state Public Utilities Commission (PUC) siting applications and technical siting reports
- Coordinate with public outreach and permitting teams
- Assist with scope and cost development for siting projects
- Serve as Project Manager: develop scope and budgets, lead project teams, identify permitting strategies, provide senior technical review for project deliverables, and coordinate with clients
- Manage environmental permitting projects within Power and Energy sectors
- Work collaboratively with diverse teams and balance project priorities
- Work in a hybrid model (remote and office) and travel periodically (10-15%)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, urban planning, engineering, biology, ecology, or similar discipline
- 15 years of total experience in the environmental consulting industry
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting electric transmission line and substation siting projects in the Midwestern and Eastern US
- Experience supporting applications for CPCN filings in the Midwestern and Eastern US
- Demonstrated experience with the Ohio Power and Siting Board filings, and Public Utility Commission filings in the Midwest and Mid Atlantic
- Project management experience, including scope and cost development, project scheduling, and maintaining project budgets
- Understanding of routing and siting processes and public outreach strategies
- Experience managing environmental permitting projects within the Power and Energy sectors
- Willingness to travel periodically (10-15%)
- Associated experience with environmental agencies and departmental roles with commercial entities may be considered equivalent
