About the role
- Support and drive development of water projects while collaborating with experienced water professionals
- Interact and work with clients to develop technical solutions
- Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of projects involving water treatment, wastewater treatment, and stormwater conveyance including pipelines and pumping facilities
- Assess, develop, and support management of sustainability and resilience projects
- Exercise judgment on details of work and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Perform fieldwork activities: site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, flow monitoring setup and monitoring, technology evaluations, and plant operations troubleshooting and optimization
- Support Asset Management projects: data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, and overall performance evaluations
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials and participate in client meetings
- Use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, BIM, Power BI, Augmented Reality, and managing databases and cloud-based services
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline)
- Ability to obtain EIT within one year of hire
- Familiarity/experience with CAD, AutoCAD, Revit
- Familiarity with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, EPANET, Modflow beneficial
- Prior work/internship experience at a design or consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment (preferred)
- EIT certification (preferred)
- Strong foundation in engineering concepts related to water, wastewater, and stormwater management
- Skills in evaluating, planning, designing, and supporting management of water/wastewater/stormwater projects, pipelines, and pumping facilities
- Project management support skills including managing project scopes, budgets, and client deliverables
- Ability to perform fieldwork: site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, flow monitoring setup and monitoring, technology evaluations, plant operations troubleshooting and optimization
- Experience with asset management tasks: data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, and performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities
- Ability to prepare reports, presentations, and participate in client meetings
- Experience with digital tools: SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, Augmented Reality, database and cloud-based computing services
