About the role
- Assist in defining project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for roadway design projects.
- Perform roadway design for intersections, arterials, expressways, interstates, and interchanges using LADOTD standards and CAD tools (MicroStation, OpenRoads).
- Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and design reports.
- Conduct geometric design including alignments, cross sections, and pavement design.
- Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, LADOTD policies, and industry standards through quality control and technical reviews.
- Support project managers with client coordination, progress monitoring, and project documentation.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design solutions and manage expectations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (transportation, drainage, structures, utilities) to integrate design components.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering an ABET-accredited university.
- 2–3 years of roadway design experience, including LADOTD projects.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with intent to pursue PE licensure.
