About the role
- Lead strategy implementation to drive organic growth across Arcadis' integrated water business in coastal North Carolina and South Carolina
- Report to the Southeast Resilience Water Area Leader and lead an established team to execute project backlog and drive growth
- Coordinate and collaborate with other Area Managers, Client Account Leads, Project Managers, Practice Directors, Corporate Services, and staff across geographies and business units
- Oversee and participate in hiring, onboarding, staff development, performance management, and terminations
- Lead coastal NC and SC water business growth strategy and support implementation of the business plan to achieve state, regional, and national goals
- Engage with and lead client account teams to expand business development opportunities and client relationships, leveraging relationships with local municipalities
- Collaborate with other Arcadis business units to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and foster business growth
- Provide leadership for operational performance of coastal NC and SC-based Water staff to achieve revenue, profit, resource engagement, and quality standards
- Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing team; negotiate with clients, teaming partners, and subconsultants
- Oversee projects in planning, design, and construction of water infrastructure facilities; provide technical assistance on design-build opportunities with national design-build team
- Travel up to 30% for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, conferences, and leadership meetings
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in water / wastewater / stormwater project management, design management, business operations, or related
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- P.E. License
- Strong client relationship skills with a successful track record of delivering engineering projects
- Strong project management experience on municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater projects of various sizes
- Strong people management and mentoring skills
- Excellent technical engineering skills with clear and concise written and oral communication skills
- Based in coastal North Carolina or South Carolina
- Travel up to 30% may be required
- Preferred: Master\'s in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related professional degree such as MBA or MPA
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Preferred: 20 years’ experience in water / wastewater / stormwater project management, design management, business operations, or related
