About the role

  • Utilize expertise and technical knowledge to lead design efforts
  • Mentor young engineers
  • Execute projects successfully
  • Provide leadership, technical knowledge, and experience to further develop design team capabilities
  • Serve as design manager and lead project tasks in planning, design, permitting and construction of wastewater and/or reclaimed water facilities
  • Create and/or oversee preparation of construction documents and permit applications
  • Lead preparation of detailed engineering calculations and analysis
  • Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for wastewater system assets
  • Develop and meet scope, delivery schedules and project budgets
  • Strengthen client relationships through professionalism and technical expertise in meetings
  • Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior staff
  • Ensure project compliance with Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards
  • Travel (up to 20%) may be required for project meetings, site visits, and client meetings

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in wastewater treatment and design
  • Experience leading design projects and managing multi-disciplinary design teams
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Holding a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Florida
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent technical writing abilities
  • Experience managing the preparation, review, and approval of project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, permit applications, RFIs, as-built drawings, and other relevant design and construction documents
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering various engineering projects that meet client expectations
