About the role
- Perform as an engineer on sediment remediation and waterfront projects through site investigation, feasibility study, design, and construction phases
- Manage, lead, and prepare feasibility studies, pre-design investigations, and remedial designs
- Evaluate sediment remediation technologies and prepare calculations and cost estimates
- Prepare reports, design drawings, and specifications for remedial actions
- Lead preparation of client-ready documents and provide senior-level technical review
- Effectively manage and lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Communicate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Provide mentoring and training to junior engineers and scientists
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert on sediment remediation projects and represent Arcadis in industry engagements
- Support business development opportunities including client/regulatory meetings and proposal development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field of practice
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the sediment field
- Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of remedial actions at contaminated sediment sites
- Experience in sediment characterization, remediation design, and construction
- Ability to manage, lead, and prepare feasibility studies, pre-design investigations, and remedial designs
- Experience evaluating sediment remediation technologies, preparing calculations and cost estimates, and preparing design drawings and specifications
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Experience communicating with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Mentoring and training junior engineers and scientists
- Preferred: Professional Engineer license
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Preferred expertise: environmental dredging and dredged material management, sediment capping, in situ treatment or stabilization of sediments, soft sediment/geotechnical aspects, groundwater-surface water interaction, hydrodynamic modeling, or resiliency
- Ability to support business development, client/regulatory meetings, and proposal development
