About the role
- Provide technical direction and work with project teams in pursuing and implementing environmental investigation/remediation in the Federal and commercial sectors
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of teams implementing site investigation/remediation related activities
- Serve as the technical lead/subject matter expert on execution of projects
- Participate in the larger technical community as a senior leader
- Provide project management and engineering support while also focusing on staff training and mentoring
- Build and lead teams that evaluate data to support the development of conceptual site models for environmental investigations
- Delineate the nature and extent of contamination and modify or optimize post-remedy long-term monitoring programs
- Mentor and train mid- and junior-level staff through direct project interaction
- Address client and regulatory comments on deliverables and drive the strategy for achieving comment resolution in collaboration with the project manager
- Organize and direct internal staff and external subcontractors in line with project priorities, established guidelines, and contractual obligations
- Regularly review project financials, develop job setups, manage invoices, and administer subcontracts
- Track and report the progress of project schedules and budgets
- Maintain clear communication with clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies
- Some travel may be required to attend client and regulatory planning meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- 15 years of project/task management experience to include controlling scope, schedule, budget, and ensuring adherence to Health and Safety Requirements
- Working familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, or State level regulated remediation (e.g., State Voluntary Remediation Programs)
- P.E. or P.G. License
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
- Experience working with rail industry clients (preferred)
- Familiarity with WA and MT state level remediation programs (preferred)
- PFAS investigation/remediation experience (preferred)
- eRailSafe and FRA track safety training (preferred)
