About the role
- Lead structural efforts on water/wastewater design and construction projects, including plant upgrades, storage facilities, storm water systems, pump stations, and distribution/collection systems.
- Lead/produce/review design calculations, technical reports, permitting, detailed design and engineering plans and specifications for Water/Wastewater projects.
- Organize and lead structural investigations, calculations, and planning work with a well-defined scope.
- Guide and assist team in developing alternative design approaches and exercise judgment in engineering alternatives.
- Lead and mentor project staff and junior structural engineers assisting with project work.
- Develop scope of work, requests for proposals, project schedules, and budgets.
- Lead production of engineering and construction drawings, specifications, bid packages, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines, office/project staff, clients and sub-contractors throughout project life cycle; prepare written reports and conduct client presentations.
- Some travel may be required to support project needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural, Civil Engineering or a related field of study.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Professional/Structural Engineer License.
- Strong structural analysis and design skills.
- Experience with structural engineering related to a variety of W/WW industry.
- Working knowledge of building codes and standards such as IBC, ACI, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking.
- Ability to work as part of a team and prior client involvement/relationship skills.
- Experience preparing, reviewing and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules and cost estimates.
- Experience utilizing STAAD Pro and other structural software.
- Functional knowledge and experience with AutoCAD/REVIT.
- Strong experience with MS Office applications.
- Some travel may be required.
