About the role
- Proactively support public agency clients throughout all phases of technology system projects including planning, design, procurement, and implementation
- Work on systems for traffic monitoring and management, customer information, fare collection, safety and security, business intelligence, and other operational needs
- Oversee vendor implementation activities, verifying and validating conformance with contractual requirements
- Collaborate on project deliverables such as technical memoranda, reports, and engineering cost estimates
- Actively support business development by assisting in preparation of outreach materials and proposals
- Coordinate with clients, design disciplines, offices, and staff to ensure successful project delivery and stakeholder engagement
- Potentially support project teams in the Puget Sound region, the Bay Area, and other locations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Transportation Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, City Planning, Urban Planning, Human Centered Design, Cognitive Science, or a related field
- 0-3 years of professional work experience in a related field
- Strong interest in public transit, traffic monitoring and management, advanced mobility solutions, and the end-user experience
- Passion for communicating technical information and developing high-quality analysis, reports, and other deliverables
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation skills
- Working knowledge of technology and technology systems
- Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of systems engineering processes and technology analysis (preferred)
- Experience working with public agencies (preferred)
- Experience working with large datasets (>5M rows) (preferred)
- Experience developing scripts and applications (preferred)
- Knowledge of Git (preferred)
