About the role
- Work on water/wastewater projects related to water supply, treatment, distribution, and wastewater collection and treatment systems
- Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of projects for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance, including pipelines, treatment facilities, and pumping facilities
- Exercise judgment on intricate details of work and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Conduct fieldwork: site visits, construction inspections, sample collection, water quality analysis, asset inventory, set up and monitor flow monitoring systems, evaluate technologies, gather plant operations information
- Support construction phase: construction observation, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, ensure permit closeouts
- Coordinate with manufacturer’s representatives and contractors
- Support Asset Management projects: data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities
- Prepare reports, presentations, cost estimates, and participate in client meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes (preferred)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, and other process modeling and engineering software (preferred)
- EIT certification (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Eager to learn and grow in the field of water engineering
