About the role
- Provide technical leadership and coordinate complex multi-disciplinary projects and programmes throughout the design life cycle
- Lead, mentor and provide line management to multidisciplinary teams, promoting safety, health, quality, sustainability, collaboration and innovation
- Ensure successful delivery of projects by setting clear goals and maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Build and sustain adequate resource for project delivery and identify strategic recruitment needs
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to meet and exceed expectations
- Champion development of sustainable and forward-thinking engineering solutions
- Report to the Technical Director and work on geotechnical projects for clients including Transport Scotland, National Highways, HS2 and international governments
Requirements
- Extensive expertise in geotechnical engineering, with experience in both new build and asset management projects
- Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent)
- Degree in Civil Engineering or other directly related degree
- Proven experience in leading complex engineering projects with a focus on quality, safety and sustainability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage client and team relationships
- Excellent people management skills to allocate talent and meet resource demands
- Ability to work effectively across organisational boundaries, internally and externally
