About the role
- conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for climate adaptation projects
- conduct structural related engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work which has a well-defined scope
- research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications
- develop calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents
- work directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office / project staff, client and sub-contractors
- mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff
- function as Design Lead, Task Manager or Project Engineer on projects to manage related budgets and schedules
- some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities depending on project staffing needs
Requirements
- 8 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- experience in designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations
- experience working on Federal resiliency projects.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution is a plus
- proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit is also helpful for this role.
