About the role
- Arcadis Intelligence practice delivers transportation technology projects across North America for public and private agencies
- Assist in planning, designing, procuring, deploying and utilizing technologies for tolling, traffic operations, traveler information, transit and other transportation functions
- Work on projects like electronic payment systems, ITS for incident detection and management, data analysis, mobile apps for payment and information dissemination
- Coordinate project activities, prepare technical memos, design documents, project plans, testing documents, reports, schedules, and cost estimates
- Hands-on testing of software and hardware and oversee device installation and formal testing
- Assist with proposal preparation and gather system requirements; liaise with client and internal teams to break down requirements
- Support project management activities: scheduling, progress reporting, budget estimates/updates, client liaison
- Onsite activities may include client workshops and overseeing installations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Transportation, Transportation Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or similar field
- Experience of 1+ years with transportation projects or practical implementation of technology
- ITS, Communications, Tolling, Security knowledge is an asset
- Strong coordination skills and ability to collaborate with engineering disciplines, software development, service delivery teams, project managers, and clients
- Outstanding teamwork, written, and verbal communication skills
- Highly self-motivated and proactive
- Ability to travel as required (may travel 15 - 25% to project locations)
