  • Model, develop, implement, fine-tune signal timing in Southern California and Western United States
  • Combine data, state and local guidelines, and roadway context to deliver operations improvements for all modes
  • Plan, develop, implement, fine tune and evaluate traffic signal timing on arterials and networks
  • Specify data collection, develop signal timing parameters, input plans via central control systems and controllers
  • Design and analyze traffic surveys to evaluate signal timing effectiveness
  • Prepare reports and make public presentations on analysis and recommendations
  • Conduct business development, proposal preparation, project management and budget control
  • Develop traffic studies, impact reports, scopes, specifications, schedules, start up procedures, and cost estimates
  • Communicate with clients on complex technical issues and adapt approach as situations change

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in engineering
  • Ability to combine data, state and local guidelines, and roadway context to deliver operations improvements
  • Experience with signal timing analysis tools for isolated and coordinated signals
  • Experience with simulation tools (VISSIM, PARAMICS, TransModeler) an advantage
  • Experience with Q-Free Signal Software and Firmware (Kinetic Signals, MaxTime, MaxView)
  • Experience in advance timing operations and SYNCHRO
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Experience in report writing and public presentations an advantage
  • Experience with business development, proposal preparation, project management and budget control
