About the role

  • Manage and execute water/wastewater treatment design and construction support projects
  • Coordinate multi-disciplined engineering teams to deliver project budgets and schedules
  • Provide technical leadership throughout planning, design, and construction phases of treatment plants, collection systems, and lift stations
  • Prepare construction documents, develop specifications, and manage construction oversight and administration
  • Lead client development, capture strategies, proposal and presentation efforts
  • Collaborate with Area Leaders and client Account Leaders on scopes, fee estimates, risk management, and staffing
  • Coordinate with technical advisors for process modeling and facility design and contribute to strategic planning
  • Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, quality, and safety standards
  • Hybrid role based in Houston, Austin, or Dallas, TX with up to 10% travel

Requirements

  • 12 or more years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • PE License in Texas (or ability to obtain TX PE within 6 months)
  • 15+ years of related industry experience (preferred)
  • Master’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Strong technical engineering background and experience delivering water/wastewater treatment plant design projects
  • Experience with client development pursuit/proposal and interviews
  • Experience delivering technical presentations and participating in project pursuit interviews
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Flexible to work with different project teams locally and across remote offices
  • Experience negotiating, managing, and successfully delivering projects with fees of $1 million or more
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for site visits, client meetings, and business development activities
