About the role

  • Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.
  • Senior Design Manager role in the Transportation team in New York City, NY.
  • Work on designs of infrastructure projects for urban roadways and transit improvements in New York and other parts of the country.
  • Develop junior staff and address complex challenges for clients including NYC, MTA, EDC.
  • Serve as engineering discipline lead for infrastructure improvement projects of various scopes and sizes.
  • Coordinate with local, national and global teams to execute Arcadis’ scope of work.
  • Interact with client technical staff, make presentations, and manage client expectations.
  • Perform roles including QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, design leader and client-facing project manager.
  • Prepare written reports, calculations and other design documentation.
  • Develop scope and fee for technical work.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • NY Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain one within 1 year.
  • Task management experience within infrastructure design and construction engineering, including cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans and project displays.
  • Proficiency with Bentely or Autodesk suite of design products to review designs.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible; ability to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts.
  • Excellent, clear and concise, oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.
  • Preferred: Experience working in design-build delivery methods.
  • Preferred: Transit Experience.
