About the role

  • Arcadis Water Business Line intern supporting planning, design, and construction administration for water, wastewater, stormwater, and water management projects.
  • Technical tasks: facilities planning, project design, permitting, construction administration, developing design reports and construction documents.
  • Projects may include treatment plants, pumping systems, pipelines, green infrastructure, and flood protection.
  • Responsibilities include planning, process evaluations, detailed design, construction administration, condition assessments, and performance evaluations of facilities.
  • Fieldwork tasks: site visits, observing construction, sample collection, water quality data analysis, technology evaluation, process troubleshooting, and operations optimization.
  • Work on multiple assignments simultaneously; exercise judgment on engineering alternatives; strong client-facing communication skills; local candidates preferred (no relocation assistance).

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
  • Prior internship experience.
  • Upperclassmen or Masters students preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Client-facing skills, including preparing and delivering effective presentations and participating in client meetings.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible with initiative to take on new projects and challenges.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment on work details and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Ability to perform fieldwork: site visits, observing construction activities, collecting samples, analyzing water quality data, evaluating technologies, troubleshooting, and optimizing operations.
