About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support sanitary/environmental engineering projects involving buried infrastructure and conveyance systems
- Perform fieldwork including construction engineering, infrastructure inspections, condition assessments, flow monitoring, sampling, asset inventory, and inflow and infiltration studies
- Work on water distribution, sewer collection, pumping, storage, treatment systems, force mains, gravity mains, and pump stations
- Prepare conceptual-to-detailed designs and contract documents for municipal, industrial, and remedial water/wastewater projects
- Interpret flow monitoring data and perform data management
- Integrate GIS for infrastructure modeling
- Analyze data and develop infrastructure renewal recommendations
- Plan and implement infrastructure renewal and rehabilitation projects
- Conduct construction inspections and oversee subcontractors and field contractors
- Enter confined spaces such as manholes for field activities and inspections after training
- Communicate with Arcadis staff, clients, subcontractors, contractors, and stakeholders
- Prepare progress reports and participate in client meetings
- Provide client contact, contractor management, and team leadership
- Travel to out-of-area project sites, including short-term assignments of 1–4 weeks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, ideally in a relevant engineering discipline or construction management
- Technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and GIS
- Physical ability to lift/carry heavy equipment and perform rigorous field investigations
- Willingness and ability to enter confined spaces after training
- Willingness to work in office and field environments, with emphasis on fieldwork
- Willingness to travel locally, regionally, nationally, and potentially internationally
- Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience with infrastructure inspection, rehabilitation, design, and/or construction preferred
- Experience/training with AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS preferred
- HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, and/or OSHA 30-hour Construction Site Safety training preferred
- EIT, with desire to obtain PE, preferred
