About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support and grow the water engineering team in Syracuse, NY
- Support and drive the development of water resources projects
- Interact and work with clients while developing technical capabilities
- Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
- Work on pipelines, treatment facilities, and pumping facilities
- Exercise judgment on intricate work details and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Conduct site visits and construction inspections
- Collect samples and analyze water quality
- Conduct asset inventory
- Set up and monitor flow monitoring systems
- Evaluate technologies and gather information on plant operations
- Support professional engineering services during construction
- Perform construction observation, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and ensure permit closeouts
- Coordinate with manufacturers’ representatives and contractors
- Support Asset Management projects through data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, and performance evaluations
- Prepare reports, presentations, and cost estimates
- Participate in client meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6-months
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and work ethic
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and team-oriented, with the ability to work successfully both independently and within a team
- Flexible attitude towards assignments, with the initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly
- Dependability and an eagerness to take ownership of tasks
- Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater
