About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support and grow the water engineering team in Syracuse, NY
Support and drive the development of water resources projects
Interact and work with clients while developing technical capabilities
Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
Work on pipelines, treatment facilities, and pumping facilities
Exercise judgment on intricate work details and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Conduct site visits and construction inspections
Collect samples and analyze water quality
Conduct asset inventory
Set up and monitor flow monitoring systems
Evaluate technologies and gather information on plant operations
Support professional engineering services during construction
Perform construction observation, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and ensure permit closeouts
Coordinate with manufacturers’ representatives and contractors
Support Asset Management projects through data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, and performance evaluations
Prepare reports, presentations, and cost estimates
Participate in client meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6-months
Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and work ethic
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and team-oriented, with the ability to work successfully both independently and within a team
Flexible attitude towards assignments, with the initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly
Dependability and an eagerness to take ownership of tasks
Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater
