About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support and grow the Water Engineering team in Rochester, NY
Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
Work on pipelines, treatment facilities, and pumping facilities
Exercise judgment on intricate work details and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Conduct site visits, construction inspections, sample collection, water quality analysis, asset inventory, flow monitoring setup and monitoring, technology evaluations, and plant operations information gathering
Support professional engineering services during construction, including construction observation, shop drawing review, RFI responses, and permit closeouts
Coordinate with manufacturer’s representatives and contractors
Support Asset Management projects through data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, and performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities
Prepare reports, presentations, and cost estimates
Participate in client meetings
Collaborate with experienced Water Professionals and clients
Develop technical capabilities through onboarding and development programs

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6-months
Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and work ethic
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and team-oriented, with the ability to work successfully both independently and within a team
Flexible attitude towards assignments, with the initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly
Dependability and an eagerness to take ownership of tasks
Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater
