About the role
- Support procurement and commissioning of new machinery and tools that will be used to support production quality
- Develop, evaluate and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and inspection guidelines
- Create process flow diagrams (PFDs) of manufacturing processes using Miro/PowerPoint
- Problem solve and implement unique solutions for various quality problems
- Collect and perform data analysis on Excel/Smartsheet/Power BI to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Use Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce waste and participate in 5S activities
- Partner closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to establish and measure KPIs and collaborate on Lean initiatives
- Develop and execute continuous improvement projects and become a subject matter expert on assigned projects
Requirements
- You are currently enrolled in an BASc Engineering program
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functionality
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks within tight deadlines
- Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- Remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- Seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
- Strong computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, & Excel/VBA is needed; CAD is an asset
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and is a self-starter
