About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop Arbital’s next-generation conversational AI
  • Build retrieval and evaluation pipelines and knowledge systems that ground model responses in production
  • Collaborate with actuarial scientists, data scientists, data engineers, and product managers on Arbital’s AI strategy
  • Manage deployment and monitoring of AI solutions in production environments
  • Troubleshoot production issues
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, privacy, security, and compliance through automated quality control procedures
  • Advance AI architecture for interacting with complex and unstructured healthcare contract and financial data
  • Deliver real-time analytics and visualizations
  • Drive evaluation and production-scale deployment of LLMs within a HIPAA-compliant environment
  • Reduce analytics time for strategic decision-making

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of experience in data-intensive, SaaS platform development projects
  • More than one year in machine learning or AI-related roles
  • Familiarity with cutting-edge AI systems, context engineering, and agentic systems ranging from tool-calling stacks to MCP-style frameworks
  • Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and ADK
  • Familiarity with context engineering pipelines including RAG, memory, summarization, compression, and grounding
  • Proficiency in Python and cloud ML services such as Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, and SageMaker
  • Experience with Airflow, Databricks, and AWS or GCP
  • Ability to ship high-caliber code and build exceptional products
  • Passion for improving and innovating
  • Hybrid work from the San Francisco Bay Area; prioritized candidates can work two days per week from the San Francisco office
  • Remote candidates must be able to travel to San Francisco for in-person collaboration several days per month
