About the role
- Oversee entire special events sales process through event execution.
- Lead generations, responding to customer inquiries, developing proposals and contracts.
- Maximize revenue through upselling and offering enhancements to exceed client expectations.
- Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport, providing creative solutions to clients' needs, managing event detailing, tours, tastings, contracts, payments, and event operations.
- Create, manage, and communicate banquet event orders, connect with vendors, and deliver consistent quality in planning and carrying out events.
- Collaborate with culinary and operations departments on menu development, event detailing, and event execution.
- Recruit, schedule, train, and develop employees to ensure standards are followed ensuring quality in final presentation and service.
- Ensure accurate reporting of all catering related revenue, expenses, and receivables, deliver sales, food, and labor targets and maintaining department budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all food, occupational and environmental safety policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or at least 3 years of related experience required.
- Previous experience in a supervisor or manager level role in special events, hospitality, or catering required.
- Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships required.
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication, client relations, and ideally sales skills.
- Must be comfortable working in a collaborative team dynamic.
- Complete Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required.
- Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. and ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must have availability to work event-based hours including evening, weekend, and potentially holiday hours.
