About the role
- Cooking and preparing a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Setting up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment
- Preparing ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely using a variety of utensils including knives
- Operating equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- Baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and using various cooking methods
- Arranging, garnishing, and portioning food according to guidelines
- Properly storing food by adhering to food safety policies
- Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintaining excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, clients, and co-workers
Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
