About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define technical requirements for welding and non-destructive testing (NDT) of equipment and structures
- Draft, review and approve welding documentation: DMOS/QMOS, welding specifications, work instructions and tracking sheets
- Analyze drawings, technical specifications, construction codes and applicable contractual requirements
- Qualify and monitor welding procedures as well as qualifications of welders and operators
- Define inspection plans and appropriate NDT methods
- Analyze non-destructive testing reports, determine conformity of results and oversee any necessary repairs
- Provide technical follow-up of welding and NDT operations at suppliers and on fabrication sites
- Ensure traceability of operations, documental compliance and adherence to HSE requirements
- Interface with project, design, manufacturing, quality, inspection teams, suppliers and clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Welding, Materials, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- IWE (International Welding Engineer) certification mandatory or ESSA
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in welding engineering, industrial fabrication, inspection or welding quality
- Strong knowledge of NDT methods: VT, PT, MT, RT and UT
- Ability to interpret non-destructive testing reports
- Knowledge of metallic materials, corrosion, heat treatments and welding defects
- Ability to prepare and review technical documentation in French and English
- Fluent French required
- Professional technical English mandatory, both written and spoken
