About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop the volume placed under existing framework agreements with the company's long-standing clients
  • Grow the client portfolio: map and manage relationships with project owner stakeholders
  • Identify, qualify and manage responses to follow-on contracts, in coordination with technical leads
  • Identify and qualify commercial opportunities in the national rail market in line with the company’s commercial strategy
  • Lead responses to tenders and consultations: coordinate technical contributions, draft commercial proposals, estimate costs, and develop schedules and contract terms
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with engineering, procurement, quality and finance teams to ensure technical compliance, financial competitiveness and project margin
  • Monitor commercial performance: regular reporting, dashboards, tracking of KPIs (pipeline, conversion rate, margin) and proposal of corrective actions
  • Represent the company with professional bodies, at trade shows and sector events, and contribute to market intelligence (regulatory changes, new technologies, competitor offerings)
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements in commercial proposals and incorporate HSE and operational constraints specific to rail operations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s (Bac+3) to Master’s (Bac+5) degree in business, engineering, project management or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years in business development or bid engineering, ideally in the rail sector or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of the technical and operational aspects of rail (study phases, validation, integration, commissioning) and of regulatory frameworks related to rail transport
  • Ability to price and structure complex offers, negotiation skills, strong written communication and proficiency with office tools and CRM systems
  • Commercial mindset, autonomy, analytical skills, organizational ability, aptitude for cross-functional work and strong interpersonal skills to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Frequent travel to client sites expected.
