Vessel Operations Engineer
APTITUDE EXPERTSVessel Operations Engineer overseeing operations from preparation to offshore execution. Interfacing with project teams and subcontractors in the marine engineering sector.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The incumbent will be responsible for the preparation, coordination and operational follow-up of activities related to the vessel package.
- They will be involved from office preparation phases through to offshore execution, interacting continuously with project teams, discipline engineers, subcontractors and operational stakeholders.
- Responsible for all technical and operational aspects related to the vessel scope (project vessel schedule, logistics, review of engineering and method documents, monitoring of installation resources related to construction, etc.).
- Supervise subcontractor engineering studies when required.
- Prepare purchase requests for materials and services (technical specifications, Scope of Work, MTOM, TBE, etc.) related to the vessel scope.
- Participate in risk analyses and provide recommendations.
- Coordinate the mobilization of personnel aboard the vessel and oversee embarkation staffing requirements.
- Manage vessel operations (mobilization, demobilization, offshore works) and coordinate various subcontractors during onshore installation campaigns.
- Act as the project operations engineering focal point to coordinate vessel activities during the preparation and execution phases.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical degree in marine engineering, coastal engineering, offshore operations or equivalent.
- Experience with methodological frameworks, offshore installations and offshore operations (preferred).
- Proficiency in SAP (highly desirable).
- Ability to manage and liaise with project discipline engineers and the ASSET department as required.
- Valid BOSIET + CA-EBS certification.
- Professional experience: similar position or proven experience in vessel operations, offshore installation or technical coordination (ideally 5 to 7 years).
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and to embark offshore according to campaign schedules.
