Account Manager – FP
Applied Industrial TechnologiesOutside seller for Applied Industrial Technologies, focusing on business development and customer relationships. Responsible for sales growth and customer training in fluid power components.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Building a territory and growing earnings by developing repeat relationships in existing accounts and opening new business.
- Using consultative selling approach when calling on engineers, purchasing, and others to learn about customers’ applications and analyze their needs.
- Achieving sales and profit goals by developing existing customers, opening new business, and customer retention.
- Conducting sales and service activities, develop strong customer relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products and services.
- Partnering with manufacturer reps and our support team to help spec in products / systems that will enhance customer performance.
- Preparing quotes and proposals, following up and negotiating terms, and closing transactions.
- Organizing and conducting training sessions for customers, surveying market and competitive conditions.
- Completing reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads and other related reports.
- Monitoring customer complaints, following up on outstanding orders, and making emergency calls, night calls, and deliveries as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6 months+ knowledge of fluid power components, systems, & applications and/or 1+ year industrial sales experience
- Basic computer skills
- Hands-on product demonstrations for customers and prospects; mechanical aptitude
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or equivalent
- 3+ years of sales experience in similar industries
- Fluid Power certification
