About the role
- Establish and expand relationships with current and prospective customers in a local territory
- Interact with customers to determine pump and fluid handling needs and provide solutions/services
- Prepare cost estimates and solution designs by understanding needs
- Be strategic, organized, and technologically savvy in managing the sales territory
- Retain sales records, maintain pipeline reporting, and generate relevant sales and market reports
- Help set sales target goals and marketing strategy
- Develop customer staff by providing technical information and training
- Work with manufacturer technical resources and product management to advance product
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking
Requirements
- Proven experience selling to chemical and industrial environments
- Proven experience in retaining customers and building repeat sales/managing a territory
- Background in pumps, seals, and mechanical mixers and fluid handling products (helpful)
- Technical/flow control industry background (bonus)
- Mechanically inclined
- Bachelor’s Degree/Equivalent or experience may be substituted for degree requirement
- Ability to prepare cost estimates and solution designs
- Strategic, organized, and technologically savvy approach to managing a sales territory
- Ability to retain sales records, pipeline reporting, and generate sales and market reports
- Ability to develop customer staff by providing technical information and training
