About the role
- Create and revise protection/control drawings of high voltage transmission and distribution substations and lines
- Peer review of other’s drawings
- Maintain drawing files – archived, current and working revisions
- Update drawings to field as-built conditions
- Provide project support/office support as required
- Occasional travel to field sites or working at a client’s office may be required
Requirements
- 5+ Years’ Experience in Design of Transmission Level Substations (13.8kV – 500 kV)
- Electrical one-lines, schematics and wiring diagrams
- Low voltage auxiliary power systems (AC and DC station power)
- Cable and conduit schedules
- Protective Relay and Control Panel layouts and designs
- Familiarity with microprocessor relays and associated options/functionality – SEL, GE, etc.
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work well with others in a team setting
- Skilled in problem solving in time-sensitive situations
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology preferred, but not required.
